Bane’s Audio from The Dark Knight Rises: Before and After

knew they changed Bane’s voice. Look, anytime there’s a movie I’m really anticipating, I try to go into a complete blackout about the film.  No extended trailers, no sneak peeks, no early reviews, nothing.  I want as much of the movie untainted and as new as possible when I see it in the theaters.  That being said, The Dark Knight Rises  was particularly difficult to avoid; the first trailer for it that I saw was during a commercial break for the 2012 Super Bowl.  I managed to avoid everything up until previews started rolling in the theater for The Avengers. Not too bad for ignoring one of the two biggest film events for comic book people this year.

During the Super Bowl commercial, Bane’s voice was unintelligible.  I’d heard rumblings that it was bad, but I never thought it would be that  bad.  You couldn’t understand him! What the hell? Look, I get if you’re wearing a mask your voice will be muffled but you would think that, as a main character of the closing third of a massive & beloved trilogy, you would kind of need to understand his dialogue. Apparently enough people freaked out that they did re-dub the dialogue.  So now you can understand him…and his weird ass lilt.  Odd choices, Mrs. Hardy & Nolan, odd choices.

Trailer Park, SDCC ’12 Edition: Deadpool Video Game Trailer

Not sure what to make of this; I used to really like Deadpool.  But once he became the comedic version of Wolverine/started appearing in 5+ books a month, I kind of reached my limit.  I’m also not a huge fan of the “narrating to himself” schtick they’ve been running with the past few years.  Still…cool costume, cool concept and hey, guns AND a sword?  THat’s pretty badass.

I’m a little torn on this trailer then, as it doesn’t really show me anything worth getting excited about.  It’s difficult to even ascertain what the style of the game is going to be from the trailer.  Go ahead and watch it, let me know what you think in the comments.

Trailer Park: FPS Trailer Off!

CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS 2 FACES OFF AGAINST MEDAL OF HONOR WARFIGHTER IN A GRUDGE MATCH YOU WON’T EVEN REMEMBER A YEAR FROM NOW! GRRRR.

VS.

Taking bets now on how long & how often I will deny that I am going to buy Black Ops 2 and then break down and eventually buy it.  I think for the original Black Ops it was a week before the release that I still insisted I wasn’t buying it.  But then, like always, I started watching the trailers and the previews and reading the reviews and then, well, tell ’em Fry:Me

Trailer Park, E3 Edition: South Park, Resident Evil 6, Medal of Honor

This game just looks fun, which certainly seems to be missing from many games lately.  Unless all of the reviews say this game is straight garbage, I believe it’s going to be a Day One (or earlier, fingers crossed) purchase for me.

Resident Evil 6 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter are after the jump.

A MMORPG Possibly Worth Playing: Marvel Heroes

Done in what looks like the style of the X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance games, Gazillion’s MMO Marvel Heroes gets a few glimpses of gameplay alongside long shots of Dr. Doom with a Cosmic Cube.

This looks like an MMO I could finally get into playing.  City of Heroes was too generic and, despite having one of THE BEST CGI intro’s for a game ever, I just couldn’t bother getting interested in DC Universe Online.  Mostly due to my hatred of everything DC pre-new 52 / non-Vertigo.  I also had no interest in paying a monthly fee for a game that I would probably only be playing periodically.

Marvel Heroes though looks like it’s right in the sweet spot. From what I could gather from the trailer, the art & gameplay are right in the realm of those earlier Marvel games.  I played through X-Men Legends twice on my PS2, then bought a PSP so I could play the portable version and check out all the extra characters  (including Cable, Nate Gray & Dark Phoenix). It even got to the point where, after I got dumped by my then-girlfriend, my first thought was, “Good, now I can play more X-Men Legends.” Priorities, people.

This definitely looks like a game to keep an eye on; even though there’s no kind of dates anywhere for a beta, a demo or a release, I’m sure that information will start leaking out once the summer conventions get into full swing.

Bonus mind blower after the jump!
