– Joseph Gordon Levitt gives Godzilla the hard goodbye and tells Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy to piss off; signs on to Frank Miller’s Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill For. As long as he’s not signing up for Frank Miller’s “I swear it’s not Batman killing Muslims” Holy TerrorJoining JGL in the City sequel are Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Jaime King; Dennis Haysbert is replacing the recently deceased Michael Clarke Duncan as the imposing bodyguard Manute.UPDATEJosh Brolin has been confirmed to step into the role of Dwight (played in the first movie by Clive Owen).

– Were you aware Guillermo Del Toro was working on a DC Comics movie called Dark Universe? From what I can tell, it’s going to be the more supernatural elements of the DCU all in one movie (owhich you can currently see on a monthly basis in Justice_League_Dark_0001Justice League Dark). GDT says the movie will feature John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, The Spectre and more. Please let it be a good Constantine and not the Keanu Reeves version (which, admittedly, I do own on DVD). Additionally, please use the Alan Moore-era Swamp Thing and not..this. GDT talks to IGN here. Things to note: this isn’t a done deal and they don’t even have a screen writer yet, though Del Toro claims he has the “perfect” one.

Trailer Park: While You’re Waiting for Looper to Hit Theaters, Watch This (Sadly) Not Real Trailer for an 8-bit Looper Game

I think this game might be better than Sleeping Dogs…

Straight from the mind of Deepak Chetty; check out some of this other work!

If you have somehow missed out on this trailer (wha?!) take a peek:

This, alongside Avengers, Cabin in the Woods, and Dark Knight Rises, are/were the films I was most looking forward to this summer. So far? I think Avengers has been the one I’ve enjoyed the most. I maaaaaaaaaay even put Cabin in the Woods ahead of DKR. I know, I know, blasphemy. Still, both Whedon films were somewhat unknown quantities that managed to surprise and delight. DKR was more of the same. Need to break up the monotony of filet mignon every now & again with some hot wings & gummi coke bottles, y’know?
